Matteo Gallo

Intrigued by the groove and the rhythm, Matteo enrolled when he is 14 in a famous venetian private school the study of the Electric Bass and he moves his first steps under the guide of masters like Giampiero Antonini and Leonardo Rigo. At the same time he faces an intense gigging activity in bands presenting original compositions and cover bands (playing Metallica and Alice in Chains). From 2001 to 2006 he plays with Sestoincomodo, a pop-rock band that performs original songs and gains excellent placings in the many contests it takes part to. In 2004 the meeting with Enrico Santacatterina feeds Matteo's longing for a wide vision of the instrument. In the following year the increasing will of expansion and artistical fulfilment takes him to attend the Lizard Academy of Padua.

In this School he trains his skills with Stefano Gnesato, Gigi Todesca and Toni Moretti, investigating the slap and the tapping technique. He takes part to stages, seminars and clinics with the most well-known professional musicians as Paolo Costa, Faso, Saternino, Gianni Cicogna, Roberto Pascucci and Billy Sheehan. In 2005 he joined the band MALASPINA and here he shows his strong attitude as rock bass player. This band plays its own songs in a proven rock, along the banks of the Brenta's Riviera.

In the 2006 the band gets a prestigeous award like Rock Targato Italia and one of their songs is published in the official recording of the competition. Artists like Giuliano Palma and Afterhours are in the same compilation. In 2009, due to the promotions of their studio album, the band is invited to make the opening of the Hormonauts's concert. Matteo is nowadays contributeing with EUROPROJECT (Europe tribute band). Favourite bass players: Justin Chancellor, Mike Inez, Flea, Chris Squire, John Levén, Dave Holland, Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius.
